Regarding Media Player please note that it is a free app with in-app purchase.
You can install Media Player from the store and use it absolutely for free, but if you want to get the unlimited functionality, you need to purchase some features separately.
Purchases within the app are optional.
Also you can play additional (paid) video / audio formats without advertising and watermark, for this you need to buy the corresponding codec for video or audio that you want to play. For example: you want to play file in .WMA (.WMA is a paid format in the app) - you need to buy WMA codec. App description in the Windows Store shows this information, please see the attached screenshot.
If you want to get all paid features and use the app without any ads, we suggest you to install paid version of Media Player. It's called Media Player Gold.
Media Player Gold hasn’t in-app purchases! It is VIP product and with it there are no borders to enjoy your favorite media content!
